Electroline EDA-2400 Four Port Cable TV HDTV Signal Booster/Amplifier (Retail Package)

With the improved EDA 2000 series, subscribers experience ultimate performance and reliability from ultra-low noise amplification of CATV signals. The EDA 2000 series comes in 4 ports to meet specific, multiple service requirements for fast-growing, video, data and telephony services. The main improvement is extra surge protection (XSP) to the IEEE 6 kV 3 kA combination wave standard. This test injects 35 times more energy than the level found in previous models.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a flat, thin display created by a number of monochrome or colour pixels which are arranged in front of a reflector or light source. It requires a very small amount of electric power to perform.

The pixels within a LCD display are usually made up of a layer of molecules aligned between two polarising filters and two transparent electrodes made from Indium Tin Oxide (ITO). The surfaces of the electrodes which come in contact with the liquid crystal material have been treated so that they align the liquid crystal molecules in one particular direction.

When electricity is applied to the electrodes, liquid crystals molecules align to appear solid... different amounts of voltage will affect the amount of transparency!

Liquid-crystal display televisions (LCD TV) use LCD technology to create images. The benefits of LCD technology are lower power requirements and lighter displays. LCD displays are commonly used as laptop and computer monitors.

Ghosting was a problem with LCD TVs in earlier years, but this is becoming a thing of the past due to the emerging technologies of backlight LCD panels and motion compensation techniques.

In the past it was widely believed that LCD technology was only good for displays less than 40 inches and the market for large flat screen televisions was dominated by plasma screen TVs.

Today, this belief is no longer true with the onset in new LCD technological advances, large LCD flat-panel televisions are now competing with plasma flat-panel televisions in your local electrical stores... usually at a cheaper price!

The new LCD technological advances are creating LCD HDTVs and it looks like these flat-panel televisions will be dominant in the future TV market.
